Care Guide
A little care goes a long way. Follow these instructions to help maintain the softness, absorbency and sand-free performance of your LumiBay towel or changing poncho.
Washing Your Dog Beach Towel
- Shake off any loose sand and dog hair before washing.
- Hand wash or machine wash separately on a cold, gentle cycle.
- Washing separately helps prevent dog hair, sand and outdoor dirt from transferring to other items.
- Use a mild, non-bleaching detergent.
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
- Do not soak.
- Hang to dry in the shade or tumble dry on a low setting.
- Make sure the towel is completely dry before folding or storing.
Washing Your Adult Changing Poncho
- After use—especially following saltwater or chlorinated water exposure—wash on a cold, gentle cycle.
- Wash separately or with similar colours to help protect the print.
- Use a mild, non-bleaching detergent.
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
- Do not soak.
- Hang to dry in the shade or tumble dry on a low setting.
- Ensure the poncho is completely dry before storing.
Why Should I Avoid Fabric Softener?
Fabric softener can coat the microfibre and reduce its absorbency and quick-drying performance. For the best results, use a small amount of mild detergent without added softener.
After the Beach
Shake away loose sand before packing your towel or poncho. If it is still damp, avoid leaving it folded in a bag or car for long periods. Hang it up to dry as soon as possible.
Storage
Always store your LumiBay product completely dry in a cool, dry place. Storing it while damp may cause lingering odours or mildew.
A Few Extra Tips
- Keep the fabric away from sharp rocks, sticks and rough surfaces that may cause snags.
- Avoid washing it with items that have exposed hooks, zippers or Velcro.
- Treat stains promptly with mild detergent and cold water.
- Always follow the instructions on the product care label.
